Kirby Storter
Big Cypress National Preserve in Central South Florida

Kirby Storter is a primitive viewing site located in the darkest spot on the mainland of South Florida. We set up our telescopes in the asphalt parking lot next our cars. There is no electricity, but there are picnic tables and there are permanently mounted chemical toilet that can be used in an emergency. The only other thing the site has to offer is an unobstructed view of extraordinarily dark skies.
